The email marketing team at Showtime was struggling with a convoluted and time-consuming email design process. I worked with their team to design a primary email template system, which would streamline their email build process as well as bring consistency to their designs.
We started with a full audit of their existing email creative, as well as several discovery sessions with their marketing and tech team to learn about the process by which their email messages go from from ideation into production. By designing a primary template, we were able to provide a content block "library" which would become the starting place for all Showtime emails going forward. Each of the content blocks functions as an interchangeable component which can be combined to build out individual email templates, and the email marketing team can then edit.
It was important for the new templates to be flexible, adhere to current email best practices, and most importantly, to accurately represent showtime's recognizable brand.
